The ASCENDO Economic calendar news events indicators use a .csv file as input to show the news events on your charts.

If you choose Myfxbook as the source, please follow these instructions to get the required .csv file.

  1. Go to the Myfxbook website.
  2. You need to log on to your Myfxbook account. If you don’t have an account, you can create one for free.
  3. Once you are logged to your account, click on your account number or avatar at the top right of the page.

    1. Then click on Settings.

    2. From the Settings page, select the Profile tab.

  4. On the Profile tab,
    1. Set the Time Format to Month/Day/Year.
    2. Set the DST to On or Off according to your current local time setting.
    3. Set the Timezone to (GMT) Western Europe Time, London, Lisbon, Casablanca.
    4. Note: The indicator expect all time in the news events source file to be UTC. The indicator then convert the UTC time to your computer time zone. This is why you are required to set the Timezone to GMT regardless of your actual timezone.
    5. Click the Save button to save the changes.

  5. Now that Myfxbook shows the time in UTC, select the Economic Calendar link from the page header.

  6. From the Economic Calendar page, click the 3 dots at the top right corner to change the news settings:

    1. Select all Events impact.
      1. Note: The indicator allows you to select which impact you want to see so all impact levels need to be included in the csv file.
    2. Select all the currencies (countries) for which you are interested to get news for.
    3. Click the Apply button to save these settings. These settings will automatically be applied the next time you view the economic calendar.

  7. Now to export the .cvs file for this week, click on the “This Week” button at the top of the calendar table.

  8. Then click again on the 3 dots at the top of the page and click the CSV link to download a .csv file that contains all events for this week.

  9. Copy the CSV file to your NinjaTrader 8 installation folder under bin\Custom\AddOns\ASCENDO\EconomicCalendar\Myfxbook

  10. Note: for the default NinjaTrader 8 installation the location will be under your Documents ie: c:\Users\your user name\Documents\NinjaTrader 8\bin\Custom\AddOns\ASCENDO\EconomicCalendar\Myfxbook

You will need to manually update the weekly news source file every week. To do so, you just need to repeat step # 7 to 9 above.
