Important actions to take before upgrading to version 6.1

Step 1 : Remove all instances of the existing Time Grid indicator

It is advisable to create a new workspace and ensure that there is no existing Time Grid indicator on any chart.

If you do not remove all Time Grid indicators from your charts, you will receive the following message in the NinjaTrader log window.

Failed to restore Indicator ‘NinjaTrader.NinjaScript.Indicators.ASCENDO.Time_Grid’. Most likely (a) the implementation changed or (b) one or more properties have been renamed or removed or (c) the custom assembly which implements this Indicator no longer is there.

Step 2 : Save your default parameters (Default template)

You will need to recreate your default template for the Time Grid indicator once the version 6.1 is installed. Therefore, it is recommended to take screenshots of your current default parameters to help you configure the new version with the same settings.

Step 3 : Upgrade to version 6.1

Once you have removed all instances of the Time Grid indicator, you can upgrade to version 6.1 from the Control Center window by selecting Tools, then Import, then NinjaScript Add-On…, and selecting the version 6.1 zip file you downloaded.

In the NinjaTrader Control Center window, click on Tools, select Import, then click on NinjaScript Add-On.

Within the “Import” File Explorer window, navigate to the location where you saved the downloaded zip file of the ASCENDO product. Select the zip file by clicking on it, then click on Open.

This warning popup window is simply reminding you to install add-ons only from trusted sources.

Just click ‘OK’ to continue with the installation.

You will receive a notification that a version of the Time Grid indicator is already installed, so you need to confirm you want to overwrite the existing version with the new one.

Next, an Import popup window will appear, advising that the installation was successful but that you need to restart NinjaTrader. Click “OK” to continue, then restart NinjaTrader.

Step 4 : Recreate the default template

Refer to the screenshots you took in Step 2 to recreate the default parameters. You will notice additional parameters that were not available in previous versions.

You are now ready to use the new version 6.1.
