Pushover Setup
1. Install Pushover client app
If Pushover has not been previously installed, install the Pushover client app on an iPhone/iPad or Android device.
2. Create Pushover account
Launch the Pushover app. The app will guide you through creating a Pushover account and registering your device with the Pushover servers.
3. Obtain your User Key
A User Key will be emailed upon account creation. This key can always be retrieved from the Pushover dashboard or through the Settings menu of the Pushover mobile app. The User Key is a randomly generated identifier that allows applications to send Pushover notifications to your registered devices.
4. Create Application API token
An application API token must be created from Pushover application registration page. This token groups all NinjaTrader notifications together within the Pushover app.
Complete the form as follows:
- Name: Enter the desired name for NinjaTrader alerts. This name appears in the Pushover app on your mobile device and is used to identify the message group.
- Description: Enter a description for your own reference. This field is not used when sending notifications.
- URL: Leave this field empty.
- Icon: Upload an icon (optional). This icon will appear in the Pushover app alongside all NinjaTrader notifications.
- Accept the Pushover Terms of Service.
- Click Create Application.
Upon completion, Pushover will display your Application API Token. Copy this token and keep it available for the configuration steps below.

Credentials
Service name
A custom label used to identify this Pushover configuration within NinjaTrader. This name appears in the Configured list of the Share Services window. Enter any name that helps you recognize this configuration, for example Pushover.
Default
When this checkbox is selected, this Pushover configuration is used as the default Share Service for sending notifications from NinjaTrader. It is recommended to keep this option selected if Pushover is your primary notification service.
User Key
Copy and paste your Pushover User Key created in Step 3 into this field. This key identifies your Pushover account and determines which registered devices will receive notifications sent from NinjaTrader.
Application Token
Copy and paste the Application API Token created in Step 4 into this field. This token identifies the NinjaTrader application within Pushover and controls how notifications are grouped and labeled in the Pushover app on your device.
Send Test Notification
Select this checkbox to immediately send a test notification to your configured device once the settings are saved. The test notification is sent with the following values:
- Title:
NT8 Alert - Message:
Test notification from NinjaTrader 8
Use this option to confirm that your User Key and Application Token are correctly entered and that your device is receiving notifications as expected.
Note: This checkbox acts as a trigger — it does not remain selected after the notification is sent. Selecting it once is sufficient to dispatch the test notification.
